Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking dedicated learning support assistants and carers to join their team on flexible timetables starting in September. No classroom experience is required, just experience working with young people.

The role offers 1-to-1 classroom support, assistance with schoolwork, and guidance to help learners gain confidence and independence. Roles are contract-based with potential extension or permanency, offering flexible hours to suit your timetable and career

Qualifications

• Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE C/4 or international equivalent).
• Experience working with young people in education or care.
• Calm, patient and supportive approach is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1-to-1 in class.
• Assist with schoolwork under teacher supervision.
• Help learners understand instructions and build confidence.
• Identify distress signs and offer reassurance.
• Implement care programmes where appropriate.
• Encourage learners to communicate effectively.
