Wirral Metropolitan College is seeking dedicated learning support assistants and carers to join their team on flexible timetables, starting in September. No classroom experience is required, just any experience working with young people. Those who are calm, patient and supportive would do well in supporting students in this role.

These timetables are flexible, and can be worked around to suit both your needs and the learner you will be supporting. What does my typical day involve?

Qualifications

• No classroom experience required; experience working with young people acceptable.
• Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE C/4 or international equivalent).
• Experience in education or care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1-to-1 in class.
• Assist with schoolwork under teacher supervision.
• Help learners understand instructions and build confidence.
• Identify distress signs and offer reassurance.
• Implement care programmes as appropriate.
• Encourage learner communication.
