Outcomes First Group is seeking a Learning Support Assistant at Crookhey Hall School in Lancaster. The role focuses on building relationships, supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally, and contributing to a safe, encouraging learning environment.

Starting September 2026, this permanent post is term-time only. The school emphasises safeguarding, DBS checks and a supportive team to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent required.
• Caring, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.
• Resilient and able to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges.
• A confident communicator and supportive team player.
• Reliable, professional and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Committed to helping every pupil reach their potential.
• Driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons, helping them engage, participate and achieve.
• Support individual learning programmes and specialist approaches.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to meet pupils’ needs.
• Observe, record and share information about pupil progress and development.
• Support assessments, target setting, reviews and relevant documentation.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
• Support pupils during activities, mealtimes, recreation and educational visits.
• Contribute to a positive school culture where every achievement matters.
