A local education authority in Scotland is hiring a Learning Support Assistant to aid in delivering quality education at Baltasound Junior High School. This part-time role involves collaborating closely with teachers to facilitate learning and support children’s personal development. The ideal candidate will be supportive and organized with a passion for primary education. This position offers competitive pay inclusive of a Distant Islands Allowance and requires adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Under the direction of the Head Teacher, the Learning Support Assistant is expected to support the delivery of high quality primary education and learning which effectively meets the needs of children.

Baltasound Junior High School is a non-denominational school located in Unst. It provides nursery, primary and secondary education up to S4 for children from the island of Unst. The structure of the school is 1 nursery, 3 composite primary classes and S1-4 classes. There is currently a total of 95 pupils on the roll. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and 1 Depute Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 15 teachers assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands.
