Learning Support Assistant - Autism Support in Primary School Provision

Tradewind are working with a Primary School in Lambeth who are looking for a 121 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child with ASD in their Additional Resource Provision. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for working with children and helping them thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Lambeth

Start Date: Full-Time, September 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the autistic student, ensuring their academic development within the classroom.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Offer behavioural and emotional support to create a positive atmosphere.
  • Assist with social skill development and encourage independence in learning.
  • Support the student during break times, transitions, and extra-curricular activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children on a 1-1 basis, ideally with autism.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting students with SEN.
