GSL Education is seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school experience by offering individualised support that helps them thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, adapting your approach to meet their unique learning needs
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets and personalised strategies
Support the child in accessing the curriculum and developing independence
Promote social interaction and emotional well-being
Use positive behaviour management techniques to support engagement and focus
Maintain clear communication with staff and parents/carers regarding progress and needs
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs)
A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for inclusive education
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
