Job summary

Kisimul Group Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for Calman Colaiste (College), a Specialist Independent college near Peterborough. You will build strong relationships with autistic learners and support a multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes on campus.

The role is Monday to Friday during term time, focusing on helping learners access curriculum and vocational activities, supporting communication skills, and enabling work experience opportunities in the community.

Responsibilities

• Build strong and meaningful relationships with learners, adapting to each student's way of learning
• Support the Class Tutor and review progress of each student
• Assist in implementing programmes devised by a multi-disciplinary team (SLTs, PTs, Educational Psychologists)
• Support access to curriculum and vocational work with students to ensure positive outcomes
• Contribute to student development through healthy lifestyle and stimulating activities
• Support students to develop communication skills using appropriate methods
• Enable work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and in the local community

Welcome to Calman Colaiste (College), a Specialist Independent 16-25 college providing further education for autistic young adults with additional learning disabilities and complex needs. About You

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will be an integral part of the family at Calman College, no two days are the same but here is a brief overview of what your day-to-day duties may look like:

• One of the most important aspects of your role is to build strong and meaningful relationships with our students, adapting to each students way of learning.
• Supporting the Class Tutor and working together to review the progress of each student
• Assist in implementing programmes devised by amulti-disciplinary team, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Educational Psychologists from ourintegrated clinical services.
• Support access tocurriculumand vocational work with the students to ensure positive outcomes in line with their personal targets
• Contribute to the development of the students through the provision of a healthy lifestyle and a variety of appropriate stimulating activities.
• Support students to develop their communication skills utilising methods appropriate to their abilities.
• Enable work experience and volunteering opportunities onsite and the local community.

What does my working week look like?

This role is Monday to Friday during term time.
