Job summary

GSL Education in Barnsley is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their school team. You will provide targeted support to students in lessons and throughout the day, helping pupils stay engaged and build confidence.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to provide targeted support to students in lessons and throughout the school day. You will help pupils stay engaged with their learning, provide one-to-one or small-group assistance where needed and encourage greater confidence and independence. • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Experience within an education or support setting is advantageous.

To work with GSL Education as a Learning Support Assistant, you should:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
• Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
