Job summary

Heartlands High School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help students with SEND participate in lessons and school life. You will act as a key worker for named students, support their learning, behaviour and personal care, and assist with school trip activities.

Job description

This learning support assistant post sits within Heartlands High School, where 16% of students are on the SEND register and 60 have Education and Health Care Plans. The work centres on helping students with additional needs take part in lessons and school life, acting as key worker for named students and supporting their learning, behaviour and personal care. Duties include school trip support, half-termly updates to success passports and attending annual reviews. Candidates need an enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.

• Developing and maintaining relationships with parents and carers
• Updating students' success passports half-termly
• Supporting exam access arrangements, such as scribing
