NHS England is offering a unique opportunity for Learning Support Assistants to join the Supported Internship programme. You will work closely with Tutors to support students with learning difficulties and emotional needs, assisting in classroom sessions and helping interns achieve their qualifications. This role requires confidence in communication and a commitment to supporting students to reach their full potential, with responsibilities that include tailored educational support across various locations in London.
Following approval from the Department of Education, NHSE was awarded funding to develop an NHS National Supported Internship programme for young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD) as well as Autism.
This unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to support students within the Supported Internship programme called Choices College.
We are seeking Learning Support Assistants to work closely with our Tutors in delivering educational outcomes related to Employability and Functional Skills qualifications.
The post holder will be a confident communicator, experienced in supporting students with a range of learning disabilities, preferably with recent extensive experience supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis in classroom settings.
A passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential.
The role involves working at various sites across London, and a willingness to travel is required.
Main duties include supporting the delivery of bespoke Employability training and functional skills to interns, assisting in classroom sessions, and maintaining weekly individual records that meet inspection standards.

Applicants from outside the NHS will typically be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
