Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School (Full-Time)
Location: Hackney
Salary: £475 – £525 per week (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only

About the Role

Connex Education is working on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Hackney to recruit a number of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to start in September 2025. These are full-time, term-time roles providing essential classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with a variety of learning and social needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support for students with SEND and additional learning needs
• Assist teachers in creating an inclusive classroom environment
• Foster students’ confidence, independence, and progress across the curriculum
• Monitor and record pupil achievements, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
• Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among students
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies as needed

Assignment Details

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Term-time only (school holidays off)
• Working hours: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM
• Long-term opportunity with potential for extension or permanent placement

Person Specification

• Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils – particularly those with SEND or learning difficulties
• A calm, adaptable, and patient approach
• Confidence in supporting a range of curriculum areas
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Connex
