Job summary

Qualiteach Education Group is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant in Lewisham for a full-time post starting 7th September at a primary school. You will support a Year 6 pupil with ADHD and SEMH, helping them regulate emotions and access learning with calm consistency.

The role requires resilience, patience and confidence in managing challenging behaviour within a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH or challenging behaviour and feel confident managing difficult situations calmly and consistently.
• Previous experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs or emotional regulation difficulties would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support to a Year 6 pupil with ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Help pupil regulate emotions, manage challenging situations and access learning safely.
• Work closely with pupil throughout the school day.
• Support transitions and returning to lessons after breaks.

The Position - Learning Support Assistant

A highly regarded primary school is seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from 7th September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA, Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Worker to provide dedicated support to a Year 6 pupil with ADHD and SEMH needs. The pupil can present with verbally challenging behaviour and may struggle with emotional regulation, transitions and returning to lessons. At times, they may abscond from the classroom or refuse to come back into the school building following break or lunchtime. As the LSA, you will work closely with the pupil throughout the school day, helping them regulate their emotions, manage challenging situations and access their learning in a safe and positive way. The successful candidate will be calm, patient, resilient and confident when managing challenging behaviour. Previous experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs or emotional regulation difficulties would be highly desirable.
