Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor for a specialist secondary setting in Enfield. You will support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, de-escalate situations, and help implement behaviour plans to boost engagement and confidence.

The role offers a full-time opportunity with ongoing support from a dedicated SEND consultant and access to free CPD and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH pupils in a school, PRU or alternative provision.
• Strong behaviour management skills and de-escalation techniques.
• Team Teach training or equivalent positive behaviour management experience.

Responsibilities

SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor - Enfield

November Start 100- 120 per day PAYE

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist secondary setting in Enfield, supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a great opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships, manage challenging behaviour and help pupils re-engage with their learning.

The role:

• Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.

• De-escalate challenging situations and promote positive behaviour.

• Help implement behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies.

• Support pupils to engage in lessons and develop confidence.

• Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team.

The ideal candidate:

• Has previous experience in an SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision.

• Holds Team Teach training or has relevant positive behaviour management experience.

• Is calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.

• Can build trust with young people while maintaining clear boundaries.

• Is available to start ASAP.
