Esher Church of England High School in England is seeking a Senior Learning Support Assistant to join an enthusiastic team of teachers and support staff, supporting students with SEMH needs to access the curriculum and participate in school life.

We are looking for a Senior Learning Support Assistant to join an enthusiastic team of teachers and support staff. The successful candidate will support students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, participate fully in school life and develop the skills they need to succeed. The department already has two Senior LSAs in post who oversee Cognition and Learning and Communication and Interaction strands. This role will oversee the Social, Emotional and Mental Health strand, including delivering ELSA interventions to EHCP students, supporting and overseeing key working, and undertaking the wider responsibilities of an LSA in lessons.
Experience of supporting students with SEMH needs in a primary or secondary setting would be advantageous, as would experience of leading, coordinating or line managing LSAs or other support staff. The successful candidate will be confident in modelling effective support practice, guiding colleagues and working closely with the Assistant SENCo to ensure consistent provision for students with SEMH needs.
This is an opportunity to have a real impact on the educational outcomes of our students. You will work in class to support key students to access the curriculum, while also helping to promote students' wellbeing, behaviour and personal development so that they can make progress and develop important life skills.
Previous experience of working with young people is essential, along with a good level of written and spoken English and numeracy skills. We offer a comprehensive induction programme for all new staff.

Our staff are passionate about seeing young people succeed in their subject.
