GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a nurturing school in Eastbourne. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with experience supporting young people with additional needs who’s looking to grow in a school setting.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with a range of learning difficulties or SEN. You’ll be helping pupils stay engaged, calm, and confident, while supporting the teacher to maintain a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to pupils who may have autism, ADHD, or communication needs
• Help pupils stay focused and overcome barriers to learning
• Use visual resources, structured routines, and simple strategies to aid understanding
• Encourage independence and confidence in pupils
• Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to deliver learning plans
Job Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools, care, or youth work)
• Calm, caring, and consistent approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and proactive attitude
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
