Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Chester to join a welcoming primary school. The role is fixed-term, part-time (32.5 hours/week) for 39 weeks per year, supporting teachers and pupils with learning activities and classroom engagement.

The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 2 in STL or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description

Our client, a welcoming primary school in Chester, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment and support children’s educational and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Assisting individuals and small groups with learning activities.
  • Providing feedback on pupil engagement and progress.

  • Preparing and utilising learning materials, including ICT resources.
  • Helping to create stimulating classroom displays.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) OR the ability to meet STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards.
  • Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
  • Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students.
