Job summary

The Laurus Trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with SEND thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

You will provide in-class support, deliver targeted interventions and work with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure every student can progress, under the direction of the SEND Coordinator. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term-time only.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English are required.
• Experience in a school environment is advantageous.
• Experience in similar roles is desirable.

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? We are seeking a caring, proactive and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a supportive and inclusive school environment. The role will involve providing classroom support, delivering targeted interventions and working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure every student can succeed. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEND across the school. Working under the direction of the SEND Coordinator, you will provide in-class support, deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, and contribute to the development of effective support strategies that promote independence, confidence and progress.

This position is contracted on a 32.5 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so.

Job Purpose

Support identified students within the classroom environment, within small group situations. Work with teachers to enhance student progress, whilst also promoting their independence, self esteem and social inclusion.
