Job description

Are you driven by a desire to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you believe in the power of connection, compassion, and consistency to help pupils thrive?

We're looking for dedicated individuals to join a dynamic team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at an Alternative Provision within our partnered school part of the Cabot Learning Federation. These young people have often faced significant challenges, and your role will be to help them re-engage with learning, build trust, and develop the skills they need to succeed-both in and out of the classroom.

*This is a full time position you must be available 8.30 - 15:30 Monday - Friday*

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to pupils in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.
  • Facilitating learning and emotional development through structured activities and community-based experiences.
  • Supporting students with EHCPs, particularly those in Year 10 and 11, who require intensive, consistent guidance.
  • Acting as a positive role model, helping pupils build resilience, self-esteem, and social skills.
  • Collaborating with teachers, mentors, and external professionals to ensure holistic support is in place.
A Day in the Life
  • You'll start your day by collecting a student and bringing them to school-building rapport from the moment the day begins.
  • Throughout the day, you'll support learning, lead enrichment activities, and accompany students on community outings.
  • At the end of the day, you'll ensure a safe return home, closing the loop on a day full of growth and connection.
What You Bring
  • A full UK driving license, access to a vehicle, and business insurance.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, either in schools or alternative settings.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and relationship-building.
  • A background that helps you relate to the challenges these pupils face-and a passion for helping them find a better path - desirable
Why work with Affinity Workforce Solutions Ltd
  • Competitive salary and mileage reimbursement.
  • Full training and ongoing CPD, including Team Teach and Trauma-Informed Practice.
  • A supportive, values-driven team environment.
  • Opportunities to work across a network of schools and provisions.
  • A chance to truly change lives-every single day.

If you're ready to be part of something meaningful, where your presence and passion can shape a young person's future, we'd love to hear from you.
