We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Learning Mentor.
Dorchester Learning Centre provides education for vulnerable students in Dorset. We are the only school in Dorset with Trauma and Mental Health Informed School accreditation. Our community is child-centred, focusing on students' needs. We value dynamic, creative, and resilient staff, understanding that positive relationships enhance learning outcomes.

We are committed to safeguarding children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment. The successful candidate will need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, in line with government guidelines.
The salary is pro-rata, based on hours and weeks worked, including paid leave and holidays. It is the annual salary at the time of posting, paid monthly, and adjusted if employment starts or ends mid-year.
This role is UK-based; Right to Work must be verified during onboarding.
The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and do not need to be disclosed or can be disregarded by employers, as detailed in the DBS filtering guide.
As part of safeguarding, Dorchester Learning Centre will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates, focusing solely on suitability to work with children. Searches will be performed by someone outside the appointment panel, and only relevant findings will be shared if of concern.
