Job Description:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young learners?

We are seeking passionate Learning Mentors to support students in overcoming challenges and succeeding academically and personally in our Slough schools.

We aim to appoint a Learning Mentor to ensure pupils undertake pre-prepared lessons during teacher absences, support students, and work closely with pastoral and curricular systems both operationally and administratively.

• 37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days (39 weeks)
• Permanent
• Immediate Start

The primary role of a Learning Mentor is to provide individualised support, promote emotional well-being, and aid academic growth. Responsibilities include:

• Mentoring and guiding students in behavioral development
• Supporting students with SEN to set and achieve personal and educational goals
• Engaging with learning activities and programs
• Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviors
• Being a positive role model to build confidence and self-esteem
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other mentors to create support networks

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience as a Behavior or Learning Mentor preferred
• Experience in SEN, challenging behavior, coaching, or youth work highly desirable
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
• Empathetic, patient, and resilient personality
