Job description

Position: Learning Mentor

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a school’s pastoral team, providing crucial support to students and fostering their personal and academic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Design and lead targeted interventions for individuals and small groups to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Build strong communication links with teaching staff, parents/carers, and support teams to deliver a cohesive approach to student development.
  • Supervise students in the Focus Area, providing guidance, ensuring task completion, and collecting assignments as needed.
  • Keep detailed daily records and manage associated administrative duties efficiently.
  • Create and implement tailored action plans for students identified for additional support, meeting with them individually or in small groups on a set schedule.
  • Work alongside the pastoral team to develop and apply effective strategies and interventions for students.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Recent experience (within the last three years) working with SEND children in a professional capacity.
  • Up-to-date, professional childcare-related references covering the last two years.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
