Job summary

Whitmore Park Primary School in Coventry is seeking Learning Mentors to support pupils with identified needs during term-time, 8.30am–4pm (35 hours/week). Salary range £27,274–£30,515 pro rata based on hours and weeks worked. Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 15.11.26. DBS required and two references will be obtained prior to interview.

Role involves mentoring, collaboration with staff and external agencies, and supporting pupils to feel safe and succeed in learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational settings preferred.
• Enhanced DBS check required prior to appointment.
• Two references will be taken up for all shortlisted candidates.

Responsibilities

• To work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to address the needs of pupils who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside school to achieve their full potential.
• To develop positive one to one mentoring relationships with pupils identified as needing support.
• To contribute to raising standards of attainment, improving attendance, reducing exclusions and maintaining good standards of behaviour.
• To support all children to feel happy and safe in school.
