Working as part of our dedicated teaching and support team, you will supervise classes across different subjects and year groups, delivering pre-prepared lessons and activities. You will provide excellent classroom management, support student behaviour and welfare, and handle a wide range of learning situations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student attendance and behaviour, managing classroom dynamics effectively, and helping to create a safe, productive and respectful learning environment for our whole school community.

Alder is a rewarding place to be. We have built a culture where staff feel valued and supported. Our core values of Altruism, Leadership, Excellence, Diversity and Resilience are at the heart of everything we do - We Are ALDER!

We are a community, and we want all students to thrive in a happy, safe, supportive, yet challenging learning environment. Our vision is to be outstanding in all we do. This includes students pursuing academic success and developing a set of skills which will prepare them for life beyond school. We have an ambitious academic curriculum for all students with hard work expected as standard.

Being part of the Alder team, you will receive:

  • The opportunity to work with honest, aspirational students brimming with potential.
  • High levels of support and challenge to maximise performance.
  • An extensive package of CPD.
  • A stimulating and friendly working environment.
  • Access to a wide range of wellbeing services through the School Wellbeing Service app.

  • Streamlined communications to reduce the use of email.
  • Breakfast provided on INSET days.
  • Supportive Managing Attendance policy and approach to planned absences.
  • Local government pension scheme.

If you share our values, have the vision and drive for excellence and want to be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team, committed to ensuring that students fulfil their potential, then we look forward to hearing from you.

The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and young people. Holidays cannot be taken during term time. The working pattern is Monday – Thursday 7:30am to 3.15pm and Friday, 7:30am to 3.00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break.

Safeguarding is central to everything we do

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
