DN Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated Learning Facilitator - Foundation Learning to support learners in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. This part-time role (22.5 hours/week, 38 weeks/year) offers a pro rata salary and opportunities to contribute to inclusive learning across college provision.

You will facilitate activities, support classwork and assessments, and collaborate with curriculum teams to promote employability, personal and professional skills

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include Level 3 qualification or equivalent vocational/professional experience in a curriculum-related area.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (or equivalent).
• Level 2 SEND qualification required.
• Experience working within a SEND educational, training, vocational or industry environment.
• Ability to motivate, support and guide SEND learners and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

The vacancy

DN Colleges is seeking a dedicated Learning Facilitator - Foundation Learning to support learners in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within our Foundation Learning provision, helping learners to engage positively with their studies and achieve their full potential.

Working closely with curriculum staff, you will facilitate learning activities, provide individual and small-group support, and contribute to a high-quality learning experience. You will play an important role in supporting learners' academic, vocational, employability and personal development skills while helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting learners with SEND, committed to promoting inclusion, and able to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and support services across the College.

This is Part-time role for 22.5 hours per week and 38 weeks per year. Working days will be discussed with the successful candidate

Actual Salary for 22.5hours per week- 38 weeks per year: £15,725.31 - £17,145.68 (Full time equivalent of £27,944 - £30,468)

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate learning activities and practical sessions in line with curriculum requirements.
• Support learners with classwork, practical activities, assignments and assessments.
• Prepare, organise and maintain learning resources, equipment and materials.
• Encourage learner engagement, participation, attendance and positive learning behaviours.
• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to support the planning and delivery of learning activities.
• Support learners to develop employability, personal and professional skills.
• Monitor learner progress and contribute to assessment and progress tracking processes.
• Liaise with tutors and curriculum staff regarding learner achievement and target setting.
• Provide support for designated learners and facilitate referrals to specialist support services when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate learner records and delivery documentation.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and equality requirements.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Criteria

Important Things to Note

• In DN Colleges we call this role Learning Facilitator - Foundation Learning but you might know this as Learning Support Practitioner, SEND Learning Facilitator, Learning Mentor, Foundation Learning Support Worker or Education Support Practitioner.
• This is a term-time position working 22.5 hours per week.
• The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
• The role involves supporting learners with SEND and working closely with curriculum, safeguarding and additional learning support teams.
• We are not looking for agency support for this role.

The LET's Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
