A recruitment agency for educational roles is seeking a Learning Facilitator to support children with special educational needs in Somerset. This role allows flexible working days with a minimum of 2 days a week. You will help children achieve their educational targets through tailored support and ongoing SEND training. Experience is not required as training will be provided. Daily pay starts at £88.95 with holiday pay included.

Five Education are seeking a resilient and compassionate individual to work with all age groups of children in alternative special schools. We are recruiting for Castle Cary, Yeovil and Martock.

The role is flexible and allows you to select your preference for your working days within a 5-day week; Monday to Friday. The minimum expectation is 2 days a week. There is a big demand for full-time staff in schools, but part-time roles are also available.

The role is to support children with special educational needs (SEN) and social and emotional mental health (SEMH) needs throughout their school day. The hours of work are 8:30-3:30.

As a Learning Facilitator, you would be helping children of various ages and abilities to reach their educational targets. By helping them on a one-to-one level, you would be positively impacting their progress with their schooling.

We work with excellent schools in Somerset, some are on bus routes and some will require a car to get to.

You do not need to have any experience for this role, as you will learn "on the job". We provide tailored support to help you whilst you are working for us. You will benefit from ongoing SEND training throughout the year. We will help you find a school where you will feel happy, and a permanent role may be offered. Five Education provides free high-quality training throughout the academic year to upskill you to become a SEND specialist.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Supporting children 1:1 or in small groups
  • Help pupils to remain focused and achieve through understanding their individual SEND needs
  • Build a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potential
Essential Criteria:
  • Be empathetic, kind and patient
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent references, covering the last 2 years
  • Relevant DBS/Police checks, or willing to obtain
