We Change Lives (WCL) is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker for Guernsey House. You will provide person-centred support, personal care, and help residents build independence and confidence in a warm, supportive team.

No fixed experience required as full training is provided; a Makaton-friendly approach and a full UK Driver's license are helpful. The role offers a permanent 42-hour contract with a 3 on/3 off rota and a welcoming, values-driven workplace.

Job description

Guernsey House is home to 4 women in their 20s who each use wheelchairs, one of which is non-verbal and communicates with Makaton, and they all have a shared passion for fashion, beauty, shopping, and coffee trips.

We're seeking team members who can share in these individuals' passions and provide support with a keen sense of fun and motivation.

• Hours: 42 Hours per week
• Salary: from £12.71

A Day in the Life of a Learning Disability Support Worker

As a Learning Disability Support Worker, no two days are alike - much like the diverse individuals we support. Our approach revolves around person-centered planning, tailoring our services to suit the distinct requirements of each person we support. As a Support Worker, you'll be equipped with comprehensive training to provide a wide range of assistance, including personal care, behavioral support, fostering independence and confidence, and nurturing positive relationships through effective communication.
