Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking Learning Disability School Support Staff to assist pupils with a wide range of disabilities in an education setting in the UK. Responsibilities include supporting children with learning disabilities and medical needs, and helping with communication and accessibility throughout the day.

Ideal candidates are experienced in disability support, personable, and capable of hands-on involvement in classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities, learning difficulties, and medical / care needs.
• Familiar with personal care, medical support, and physical disabilities.
• Friendly, confident, and approachable.
• Able to get stuck in and contribute in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a wide range of additional needs and disabilities in the classroom.
• Assist with hearing and visual impairments, communication needs, medical and physical needs, and speech and language requirements.

The Job…

Working to support children with a wide range of additional needs and disabilities, including MLD, PMLD, and Autism (ASC)- your days will be diverse and busy! As an extra helping hand in the classroom, you'll be supporting pupils with hearing and visual impairments, communication needs, medical and physical needs, and speech and communication requirements!
