Job summary

Job description

The States of Guernsey are to appoint a Deputy Manager (Band 6) to work within the Adult Disability Service (Committee for Health & Social Care), specifically across Therapy & Enabling and Short Break Care.

The role is suitable for a Registered Learning Disability Nurse or an RMN with learning disability experience.

Short Breaks and Emergency Care provide 24/7 support in three self-contained respite flats for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and autism. The Therapy and Enabling service, including a drop-in facility, operates Monday to Friday, serving approximately 40 service users with a variety of structured activities and therapies.

The management team consists of a Manager (Band 7), two Deputy Managers (Band 6), and five Team Leaders. The Deputy Manager will provide practice leadership, support a diverse team of HCAs/Band 3 and 4 Support Workers, and work alongside the multidisciplinary team to implement best practices.

The post holder may be based in various settings, including the autism hub, specialist residential homes, supported living, La Vieille Plage, and outreach teams, depending on service needs. However, the primary location for this role is within Therapy & Enabling and Short Break Care.
