Main Duties:
Conduct specialist neurodevelopmental assessments for adults, focusing on Autism, using recognised diagnostic tools.
Complete detailed clinical interviews, observations, and assessments to inform diagnostic decisions.
Prepare clear, accurate, and timely assessment reports with diagnostic conclusions and recommendations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care and support for individuals.
Provide clinical expertise and guidance, with opportunities to supervise junior staff depending on experience.
Maintain accurate records in line with professional and NHS standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and clinical supervision.

About the Role
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Adult Services, and we are now actively taking referrals. This is an exciting and valuable role within a busy service, providing essential assessments to adults. This is a hybrid or remote role located in one of our clinics in Harrogate, Huddersfield, Exeter, Norwich or Gosforth for suitably qualified clinicians working within the Evolve Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team for adults referred for Autism. We are looking for clinicians who are occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, learning disability nurses, or mental health nurses.
Some aspects of the role may be undertaken remotely. We have multiple positions availableboth remote and hybridwith some in-person work required for hybrid roles, to attract candidates with varying levels of experience and geographical locations, including senior roles. Hybrid roles must be able to travel to one of our locations, to undertake face-to-face assessments.
We are particularly interested in hearing from Allied Health Professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Mental Health Nurses (MH Nurse), and Learning Disability Nurses (LD Nurse), who have experience in adult neurodevelopmental assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive Autism assessments using established diagnostic tools.
Complete in-depth clinical interviews, observations, and diagnostic evaluations.
Prepare high-quality assessment reports with clear recommendations.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of care.
Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and clinical supervision.
Qualifications & Experience Required
HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT), Occupational Therapist (OT), NMC registered Mental Health Nurse (MH Nurse) or Learning Disability Nurse (LD Nurse), or GMC registered Medical Practitioner.
Experience as a neurodevelopmental practitioner with relevant specialist training.
Experience conducting diagnostic assessments for adult with suspected Autism.
Experience conducting ADHD assessments, is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools.
Understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.
Ideally ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R trained.
Strong report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
