Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilledComplex Care Assistantto support individuals with a range of learning disabilities, both children and adults. You will assist with daily care needs, promote independence, and encourage personal growth in a safe, supportive environment.

You’ll be supporting clients with varying degrees of learning disabilities, which may include helping with personal care, communication support, and promoting positive behaviours. This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a tangible difference to the lives of individuals who need your help.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day care and assistance to individuals with learning disabilities
• Support communication needs for non-verbal or minimally verbal clients
• Encourage and promote independence by empowering clients to participate in daily tasks
• Assist with personal care, feeding, and medication administration
• Support clients in engaging with activities both in and out of the home
• Monitor and track the health and wellbeing of clients, ensuring timely escalation of any concerns

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a care or healthcare setting
• Patient, compassionate, and dedicated to empowering clients
• Ability to work with individuals with varying needs, using person-centred approaches
• A caring attitude, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of people with complex needs
• Full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
• Understanding of safeguarding principles

The specific clinical skills required will depend on the individual client’s needs, so flexibility and adaptability are key. You may be supporting both children and adults in different settings, including their home, school, or out in the community.

In addition, we provide shadow shifts and bespoke competency sessions that will ensure you’re fully supported as you gain confidence in delivering expert, compassionate care.
