Job summary

Blackpool Council is seeking a passionate Support Worker for the Learning Disability Team at Bickerstaffe House. 37 hours per week, permanent contract, salary £28,598–£31,022 per annum.

You will help adults with a learning disability achieve outcomes, build independence and access community opportunities. The role involves welfare calls, contributing to care planning, and coordinating with families and partner agencies to ensure timely support and safe practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in health and social care for adults with a learning disability or related setting.

Salary - NJC Grade E SCP 12 - 17 £28,598 - £31,022 per annum

Support Worker - Learning disability Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our Learning Disability Team based at Bickerstaffe House.

This rewarding role will involve providing short term, person-centred support to adults with a learning disability living in the community. You will help people achieve their identified outcomes, develop independence, reduce risks and access opportunities that improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

As part of a busy and supportive team, you will also play a key role in supporting our Front Door Duty function and your work will help ensure vulnerable adults receive timely support and that risks are identified and addressed at the earliest opportunity.

  • Delivering short-term interventions to adults with a learning disability.
  • Supporting individuals to develop daily living and independent living skills.
  • Promoting choice, control, inclusion and community participation.
  • Undertaking welfare and wellbeing calls to people.
  • Supporting the team's Front Door Duty service.
