Overview

We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo. This remote role in the UK offers a salary of £43,400 - £54,850 depending on experience, plus share options and benefits.

We’re looking for an experienced Instructional Design Leader to define the future of learning at Monzo. You will lead and mentor a team of designers, setting and upholding design standards across all training materials, with a focus on simplicity, functionality, and accessibility.

This role is part of a broader evolution in Training and Development within Monzo Customer Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the maintenance of our LMS platform, ensuring content is current, clean, and well organized.
  • Supporting Designers in converting curriculums and learning outcomes into engaging training programmes.
  • Quality checking training programmes to maintain high standards across all materials.
  • Developing Designer writing skills to craft compelling content.
  • Championing accessibility and inclusion in all training solutions and materials.
  • Ensuring materials are fit for purpose across all sites, considering global and local requirements.
  • Developing and refining design standards to continually improve quality and impact.
  • Implementing and overseeing version control of all training materials.
  • Applying deep expertise in learning experience design to integrate design, functionality, and accessibility.
  • Leading and mentoring a design team to grow capabilities and performance.
  • Managing relationships with Business Partners, Operations Leads, and COps learners.
  • Maintaining, updating, verifying, reviewing, and archiving courses in the LMS.
  • Applying expert understanding of Instructional Design Principles and adult learning theory.
  • Driving impact by delivering high-quality training that benefits both learners and the business.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in an L&D environment with a track record of mentoring and developing design teams.
  • Strong expertise in instructional design, learning experience design, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Experience ensuring materials are fit for purpose across multiple sites and regions.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-management skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with LMS management and content governance, including version control.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful training that aligns with business goals.
