LOCATION: Birmingham, London, Salford (Hybrid)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £43,700 - £51,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Join the BBC Academy to create high-quality learning in support of the Academy’s training delivery areas. As a Learning Design Specialist, you’ll play a key role in the consultation, research, design, and evaluation of blended learning solutions that promote continuous development and ongoing learning to BBC staff.
Learning Design Specialists are accountable for the success of the learning intervention they are designing, with project control from beginning to end, liaising and collaborating with a number of internal and external stakeholders/third parties.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

• Positively challenge, advise, and support stakeholders with a view to creating user-centered, simple yet effective and innovative learning experiences.
• Research, understand, and represent the user and their needs, ensuring any learning experience addresses those needs and is prototyped and fully tested.
• Project manage the learning design phases together with stakeholders, ensuring that milestones are transparent, well communicated, and met. Ensure communication throughout the project is clear and lead the establishment of regular project progress meetings with clear actions.
• Ensure that any proposed learning intervention meets BBC standards and guidelines and works within the BBC values and objectives.
  Regularly review, measure, and update content as part of continuous improvement and management of learning material.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Knowledge of the principles of learning and the success factors fundamental to the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of blended digital learning solutions.
• A clear understanding of how to effectively uncover objectives and outcomes within a project and delivering them against measurable KPIs.
• Effective stakeholder management enabling clear, honest communication to ensure successful project delivery.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of effective project management.
• Principles of user-centered design and effective delivery of user testing and research.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of BBC editorial standards and policies.
• Ability to demonstrate the impact of solutions delivered based on measurements taken.
