Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a Learning Assistant for a fixed-term role at Wallace Hall Academy Cluster. In this position, you will support pupils with additional learning needs to help them achieve their potential. Candidates should be educated to SCQF Level 4 or equivalent and have experience with young people. We are seeking to appoint a capable and enthusiastic Learning Assistant with the desired personal qualities and skills to join the staff team within the Wallace Hall Academy Cluster based at Dunscore/Moniaive Partnership School. You will be required to support pupils with additional support needs to overcome barriers to their learning and reach their full potential.
You will work 15.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year. This post may be suitable for secondment; agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying.
The successful candidates must be educated to SCQF Level 4 (e.g., Standard Grade General, National 4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy, and have experience working with children and/or young people. A willingness to undertake training will be required.
Experience working with children/young people with additional support needs and a visit to the Primary Inclusion Hub prior to application would be advantageous. A willingness to undertake training will be required.
