The Role: College Learning Assistant

As a full-time Learning Assistant at a renowned college in Bristol, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with SEND. Working within a vibrant educational setting, you will inspire and motivate learners, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support students with SEND on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, assisting them in their studies.
  2. Collaborate with lecturers and other college staff to provide personalized learning plans.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
  4. Foster independence and build confidence in students to overcome learning barriers.
  5. Assist in classroom activities, practical sessions, and workshops as required.
  6. Offer emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering their overall development.
Requirements:
  1. Experience: Previous experience as a Learning Assistant or supporting students with SEND is an advantage.
  2. Empathy and Patience: A genuine understanding of students' individual needs and the ability to remain patient and supportive.
  3. Adaptability: Willingness to work across multiple college sites in Bristol, accommodating different learning environments.
  4. Positive Attitude: Enthusiasm for promoting a love for learning and a positive educational experience.
  5. Team Player: An ability to collaborate effectively with college staff to ensure student success.
