Job summary

Haringey Council is seeking an enthusiastic Learning & Development Specialist to join the Talent, Recruitment and Development team. You will deliver workforce initiatives, facilitate corporate training programmes, and support managers to develop the skills they need to thrive.

Reporting to the Curriculum Writer, you will design learning interventions, evaluate training effectiveness, and collaborate across the organisation to achieve measurable outcomes.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Learning & Development Specialist to join our Talent, Recruitment and Development team. Reporting to the Curriculum Writer, you will play a key role in delivering workforce initiatives that support the Council’s learning and development strategy. Your work will include facilitating corporate training programmes, delivering interactive workshops, and supporting managers and employees to develop the skills they need to thrive.

As part of this varied role, you will design and deliver learning interventions, administer corporate training programmes, evaluate training effectiveness, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure development initiatives achieve measurable outcomes.

About the team

The Learning & Development team sits within Human Resources & Organisational Development and is responsible for delivering high-quality learning opportunities that support employee growth and organisational success. Working alongside experienced learning professionals, curriculum specialists and workforce project leads, you will contribute to a range of initiatives that help build capability across the Council.

This is a collaborative and supportive team that works closely with services across the organisation, senior managers, HR colleagues and external training providers to create a positive and impactful learning culture.

About you

You will be an experienced facilitator who is confident delivering engaging training sessions and workshops to diverse audiences. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a good understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Ideally, you will hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised learning and development qualification. You will be proactive, adaptable, and passionate about helping others develop, with experience of managing competing priorities and using a range of learning tools and technologies to create effective learning experiences.
