Purpose of the role

Are you passionate about developing people and driving impactful learning initiatives? Colas is seeking an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Partner to join our HR Support Services team. Based at our Head Office in Solihull, B37 7YB (with UK travel required), you will play a key role in delivering our training strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the growth of our employees across all levels.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of learning at Colas, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to build capability and support career development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize training needs.
  • Coordinate and manage daily training requests, maintaining accurate training records.
  • Support the implementation of the Learning and Development strategy with the Talent Development Manager.
  • Design and deliver bespoke leadership and management development programs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness to contribute to ROI and ROE assessments.
  • Manage relationships with training providers, including contract and SLA negotiations.
  • Support apprenticeship and graduate programs, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Assist with audits and budget reviews related to training activities.
  • Maintain training matrices aligned with the Learning Management System.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of L&D processes, systems, and policies.

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum CIPD Level 3 qualification in Learning and Development.
  • Proven experience in a consultative or specialist L&D role.
  • Strong understanding of the full learning cycle and talent development strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes, funding, and industry training standards is desirable.
  • Experience in construction or industrial sectors is a plus but not essential.
