Qualifications

  • Degree or experience in people development, or equivalent training qualification.
  • Experience working with both non-clinical and clinical teams.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Palliative and End of Life care.
  • Experience in teaching to range of health and social care practitioners, including both non-registered and registered staff, including teaching at master's level.
  • Proven experience of designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning activities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Able to work independently, reflect on your work, and keep your knowledge and skills up to date with current evidence-based training.
  • Understand diverse learning needs and be able to adapt teaching methods and resource material to meet different learning styles.
  • Have a record of effectively managing staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience in facilitating group discussion and using reflective tools to enable peer feedback.
  • Proficiency in evaluation to be able to measure impact of teaching and present this feedback to the wider team, to ensure training is fit for purpose.
  • Proficiency in giving written and verbal feedback to all learners.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT LEAD | Band 7 | £46,148 - £52,809 per annum (pro rata)

In this role you will support the design and implementation of education programmes that strengthen our workforce - clinical and non-clinical - and align with our strategic goals, leadership framework, and values.

The role will include:

  • Designing, delivering and evaluating innovative education programmes that enhance the knowledge, skills, and confidence of our clinical and non-clinical workforce.
  • Leading and managing members of the Education team, ensuring excellence in teaching practice and team development.
  • Collaborating with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to support accredited programme delivery, including teaching and assessment at Master's level.
  • Working closely with clinical, retail and wider workforce teams to develop essential role and skills training, ensuring high-quality development and delivery across the hospice.
  • Supporting wellbeing and resilience through learning, integrating emotional and psychological support into all education strategies.
  • Developing strong partnerships with external organisations and stakeholders to promote a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing across the wider health and social care sector.
  • Use data and feedback to evaluate the impact of educational delivery and refine training to meet evolving needs and expectations.

HOURS OF WORK

This is a part time position. You will be contracted to work 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, with Hybrid working opportunities available.
