Job description

Oakleaf is partnering with a leading global financial services firm, home to around 300 employees, to appoint a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development and DEI specialist for a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is a varied, strategic, and delivery-focused role, split roughly 70% L&D and 30% DEI. You’ll be instrumental in developing talent and leadership capabilities across the firm-designing and rolling out learning strategies that support their growth, culture, and future skills needs. You’ll also lead the firm’s DEI agenda, partnering closely with the DEI Committee to build momentum and data-led progress in a relatively greenfield space.

They’re looking for someone commercially savvy, adaptable, and confident working across everything from high-level L&D design to logistical execution. You’ll need to be equally comfortable booking meetings or prepping for offsites as you are designing global leadership programmes or driving their MBA and summer intern development initiatives across London, New York, and Singapore.

You’ll be the key L&D/DEI voice in the firm-trusted to take ownership, shape delivery, and support a mix of ongoing and new initiatives. It’s a broad remit and no two days are the same, so someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile, and global environment will do well here.

Learning & Developmen

Key elements of the role:

  • Lead and deliver learning and development programmes across all levels, including leadership and early-career talent
  • Own and drive their MBA and summer intern programmes globally
  • Partner with international offices and senior stakeholders to embed learning strategies and elevate people capability
  • Take the lead on their DEI strategy, initiatives, and data reporting in partnership with the DEI Committee
  • Contribute to RemCo processes, appraisals, promotion panels and offsites
  • Manage external learning providers and internal programmes end-to-end
  • Be the go-to person for L&D logistics, operations, and delivery-this is a hands-on role!

Looking for:

  • A senior L&D/DEI generalist with strong end-to-end programme design and delivery experience
  • Confident working at pace and independently-this is a standalone role within an 8-9 person HR team
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
  • Clear communicator, commercially aware, and thrives in times of change and ambiguity
  • Someone who can implement what’s in place but also bring fresh ideas without reinventing the wheel

This could be a great fit if you:

  • A senior L&D/DEI generalist with strong end-to-end programme design and delivery experience
  • Confident working at pace and independently-this is a standalone role within an 8-9 person HR team
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
  • Clear communicator, commercially aware, and thrives in times of change and ambiguity
  • Someone who can implement what’s in place but also bring fresh ideas
