An exciting opportunity awaits at a prestigious university, seeking a dynamic individual to join their team in developing innovative interdisciplinary learning units. This role involves collaboration with academic colleagues to create engaging content for diverse learners, focusing on pressing societal challenges like sustainable development and social justice. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the educational experience through both face-to-face and online learning environments. With a commitment to inclusivity and flexible working arrangements, this position offers a chance to make a significant impact in the academic community.
We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the team responsible for developing and delivering University College for Interdisciplinary Learning (UCIL) units, including Leadership in Action (LIA). The successful candidate will also be involved with a range of innovative interdisciplinary teaching and learning projects that aim to reach new learners.
You will work closely with academic colleagues and the Education Development Academic Development team to develop bespoke interdisciplinary units for students as part of UCIL. UCIL units are delivered both face-to-face and via blended and online learning. You will therefore have up to date knowledge and interest in online and blended learning, with an understanding of content design. For the Leadership in Action units you will contribute to the assessment of students’ work, and the support and training of Graduate Teaching Assistants.
You will be involved in the redevelopment of the Ethical Grand Challenges programme, as well as other projects exploring innovative ways to repackage interdisciplinary teaching and learning to meet the needs of diverse learners. You should have an understanding of and interest in addressing complex societal challenges—such as sustainable development, social justice, and equality, diversity and inclusion—that benefit from an interdisciplinary approach.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with academics to develop unit content. You should be well organised and have strong project management skills. Your written and verbal communication skills will be excellent, and you will have significant experience of developing effective working relationships with a range of partners. A strong commitment to working with students and a positive, innovative and flexible approach to work is also required.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
