Job summary

The College of West Anglia in Wisbech is seeking a Learner Support Officer to assist foundation learners across courses, including those with SEND/education health plans, in maths, English and independent living skills.

This term-time, part-time role offers 22–35 hours per week with a supportive team and opportunities for training, plus benefits such as generous annual leave and a contributory pension scheme.

Job description

JOB TITLE: Learner Support Officer
LOCATION: Wisbech
HOURS: 22 to 35 hours per week (between 8.30am - 4.30pm)
SALARY: £13.38 - £13.59 per hour, plus £2.66 to £2.69 per hour for annual leave as this is a term-time post (£25,749 - £26,149 FTE)

Learner support officers within the foundation team will support a range of students both within and outside of the classroom. These are varied roles where you can expect to work with learners with educational health and care plans or recognised special educational needs in areas such as maths, English, sessions developing independent living skills and more. No two days are the same.

We are a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving foundation learning support team and in recent years, the department has grown from strength to strength. We offer an incredible training package and a chance to work within tight knit and supportive teams.

We offer an excellent package including a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days per year for support staff,plus five College closure days,plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part-time), fee waivers on some College courses, a contributory pension scheme with the Local Government Pension Scheme, discounts with local businesses and access to a cycle to work scheme.
