Job summary

College of West Anglia is seeking a Learner Support Officer - Foundation (Term-time) in Kings Lynn. You will support foundation learners with diverse needs, including those with educational health and care plans, across maths, English and independent living sessions.

The role is term-time with flexible hours between 8.30am and 4.45pm. We offer a generous leave allowance, College closure days pro rata for part-time staff, fee waivers on some courses, and a contributory pension.

Qualifications

• Experience with learners with educational health and care plans (EHC plans) or recognised special educational needs (SEN).
• Ability to work with learners across maths, English and developing independent living skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a range of students within the foundation team, in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with learners with EHC plans or SEN, alongside teaching and learning activities.
• Contribute to training and development within the foundation learning support team.

LOCATION: King's Lynn

HOURS: 23.5 to 37 hours per week (between 8.30am - 4.45pm)

SALARY: £13.38 - £13.59 per hour, plus £2.66 to £2.69 per hour for annual leave as this is a term-time post(£25,749 - £26,149 FTE)

Learner support officers within the foundation team will support a range of students both within and outside of the classroom. These are varied roles where you can expect to work with learners with educational health and care plans or recognised special educational needs in areas such as maths, English, sessions developing independent living skills and more. No two days are the same.

We are a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving foundation learning support team and in recent years, the department has grown from strength to strength.
