Job summary

LT Selection is recruiting a Learner Engagement Advisor for an education and training provider delivering Adult Skills Fund programmes across South Yorkshire. You will connect local residents with training that helps them gain qualifications, develop their skills and progress into employment or further learning.

You must be based in South Yorkshire and able to travel across the region for face-to-face meetings, events and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice or Guidance.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Based in South Yorkshire with ability to travel across the region.
• Experience with government-funded programmes.
• Good knowledge of local communities and skills needs.
• Clear, empathetic communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote Adult Skills Fund programmes through community outreach and events.

LT Selection is recruiting a Learner Engagement Advisor for an education and training provider delivering Adult Skills Fund programmes across South Yorkshire.

You will connect local residents with training that helps them gain qualifications, develop their skills and progress into employment or further learning. The role combines community outreach, partnership development and practical support through advice, assessment and enrolment.

We are looking for someone personable and approachable who knows South Yorkshire well and can build trust with learners and referral partners. You must be based in South Yorkshire and able to travel across the region for face-to-face meetings, events and outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Promote Adult Skills Fund programmes to prospective learners through community outreach, presentations, events and recruitment activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with Jobcentre Plus, community organisations, referral agencies, local employers and other partners to generate appropriate learner referrals.
• Provide impartial information, advice and guidance, helping people choose provision suited to their needs, ambitions and career goals.
• Support applicants through initial assessment, funding eligibility checks and enrolment, making the process accessible and ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.
• Manage learner caseloads and support progression into further training, career development or employment.
• Use your understanding of local communities and skills needs to reach residents facing barriers to learning or work.
• Work with colleagues, employers and partners to ensure training responds to local needs.
• Maintain accurate learner records and enrolment documentation in line with current funding guidance.
• Monitor engagement, referrals and enrolments against agreed recruitment and enrolment targets.
• Represent the provider professionally at community events, stakeholder meetings and partnership activities.
• Experience working on government-funded programmes.
• Experience working across South Yorkshire and a strong understanding of local communities and skills needs.
• A track record of working to learner engagement, referral, enrolment or progression targets.
• A Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice or Guidance.
• Clear, empathetic communication and the ability to build relationships with learners, referral agencies, employers and colleagues.
• Good organisation and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft packages.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across South Yorkshire.
