Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a Production Planner to ensure the on‑time supply of products by developing and maintaining production schedules across Assembly and In‑house Machine Shop. You will balance customer demand with capacity, manage MRP parameters, and support lifecycle activities including NPI, obsolescence, and transfers to in‑house manufacturing.

The role involves close work with Production, Engineering and Machine Shop teams to optimise delivery performance and inventory levels, in a modern

Qualifications

  • Prev. Planning or Inventory Controller experience in manufacturing
  • Lean/continuous improvement methods experience
  • Experience with scheduling and capacity planning (production and machine shop)
  • Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a production plan aligning demand, inventory and capacity to meet delivery dates
  • Monitor capacity utilisation and identify risks, escalate issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain ERP/MRP parameters for accurate scheduling
  • Respond to lead times and delivery updates from global sales teams
  • Analyse KPIs to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Support NPI, obsolescence projects and transitions to in-house manufacturing
