American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking a Leak Detection Engineer for site-based work in the Reading area. You will perform leak detection surveys across domestic water systems using listening sticks, ground microphones, acoustic correlators, and CAT & GENNY equipment.

The role involves reporting findings, proposing cost-effective repairs, and carrying out minor reinstatement works. The position offers a basic salary of £30,000–£40,000 with overtime and an OTE of £48,000+, plus a company

Qualifications

• Leak detection experience is essential.
• Experience with listening sticks, ground microphones and acoustic correlators.
• CAT & GENNY experience.
• Knowledge of specialist leak detection technologies.
• Thermal imaging experience desirable.
• Experience with domestic surface reinstatement such as paving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• WIAPS approved or equivalent preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out leak detection investigations on domestic water systems.
• Locate leaks using listening sticks, ground microphones, acoustic correlators and other equipment.
• Use CAT & GENNY equipment to locate underground services and trace pipes.
• Provide clear, cost-effective and minimally invasive repair recommendations.
• Produce detailed technical reports, including water supply plans/layouts.
• Communicate findings clearly to customers.
• Carry out small-scale enabling works and reinstatement when required.
• Troubleshoot complex mains water systems with a logical approach.
