As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the transfer agency team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities
  1. Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technically with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or analyze technical problems.
  2. Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  3. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  4. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  5. Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  6. Contribute to fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  1. Formal training or certification in relevant IT concepts with proficient advanced experience.
  2. Hands-on practical experience in delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  3. Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including Java.
  4. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  6. Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  7. Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a discipline like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
  8. In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
  9. Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
