A vacancy has arisen for a Barlow Leading Hand to join our team at Drax Power Station.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provides a varied Operations and Maintenance service at Drax Power Station, handling, maintaining, and reclaiming materials including FBA, Coal, and Mitigant Slurry, while managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.

The Role Briefly Encompasses The Following:

• Liaise with Barlow Supervisor & Operations Shift Supervisor (OSS) regarding operational requirements.
• Lead the shift team and perform supervisory duties in the absence of the Barlow Supervisors.
• Ensure HIS compliance regarding Drax Barlow permit/planning consents.
• Hand over and report operational status to OSS.
• Liaise with Barlow Supervisor/OSS on deployment of the shift team.
• Provide shift team with duties and information.
• Inspect plant areas.
• Assist in operational processes as agreed.
• Carry out safety audits and record shift events.
• Promote hazard reporting and manage hazards within the operational area.
• Deliver safety toolbox talks and site safety information.
• Liaise on dust suppression, vehicle/plant refueling, product sales, and housekeeping.
• Drive site vehicles and operate plant equipment such as FELs, Dozers, ADTs, Excavators, and screening plant.
• Inspect plant and equipment regularly and report defects.
• Perform other reasonable instructions to ensure site operation.
• Complete check sheets for mobile and static plant.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• IOSH managing safety or equivalent.
• Step Back/Speak awareness.
• Materials handling/Mobile Plant experience.
• Competent within HIS and Drax Power Safety & Golden rules.
• Ability to fault find and act upon problems.

Desirable Skills:

• Environmental care awareness.
• Mobile Plant operator.
• Harness trained.
• Forklift trained.
