Job summary

West Bromwich Building Society is seeking a Leadership Development Partner on a 12‑month fixed term contract, Hybrid role (West Bromwich office 40%). Salary around £42,000 per annum for 35 hours/week.

The role focuses on designing and delivering leadership development, coaching, and succession planning across the organisation. You will partner with executives and managers to identify capability gaps, create tailored development programs, and measure impact with data analytics.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a management/leadership development role within a commercial environment.
  • CIPD/L&D qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to influence at senior levels and drive new development initiatives.
  • Excellent delivery and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing resistance to change and gaining buy-in.
  • Strong planning, project management, problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders, teams, senior management and department heads to identify capability needs including training, talent development and succession planning.
  • Conduct TNAs to identify skill gaps and developmental needs by analysing performance reviews, feedback and organisational goals.
  • Create and design training programs covering leadership development, team building, change management and strategic planning.
  • Deliver training sessions, workshops and learning interventions using an interactive learning approach.
  • Measure training effectiveness through feedback, surveys and post-training evaluations.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring for leadership development and career progression.
  • Support organisational change by preparing managers to handle transitions and new strategies.
  • Use data analytics to track impact of development initiatives on KPIs and organisational success.
  • Develop opportunities for High Potential Talent through mentoring, project work and coaching programmes.

Leadership Development Partner - 12 Month Maternity Cover

Salary: c. £42,000 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week (Part Time may be considered)

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Hybrid (40% Office based: West Bromwich)

We have an fantastic opportunity for a Leadership Development Partner who will join our HR team who will be responsible for enhancing the skills, knowledge, and effectiveness of managers and colleagues across the Society. The role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing programs and initiatives aimed at developing talent and leadership capabilities.

What the role will look like:
  • Partnering closely with stakeholders, teams, senior management, and department heads to identify capability needs, including, training, talent development and succession planning.
  • Conducting TNA’s to identify skill gaps and developmental needs - Including analysing performance reviews, feedback, and organisational goals etc
  • Creating and designing training programs tailored to the needs of the workforce. These programs might cover leadership development, team building, change management, strategic planning, and more.
  • Conducting training sessions, workshops, and learning interventions to create an interactive learning environment guided by the 70:20:10 approach
  • Assessing the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms, surveys, and post training evaluations.
  • Providing one-on-one coaching or mentorship and offering guidance on specific challenges, career development, or leadership skills improvement.
  • Instrumental in managing organisational changes by preparing managers to handle transitions, new responsibilities, or shifts in Society strategies.
  • Using data analytics to track and measure the impact of development initiatives on key performance indicators and overall organisational success
  • Design and introduce effective development opportunities for ‘High Performance High Potential Talent’, including mentoring (face to face & online), project opportunities, and effective coaching programmes
What you will bring to the role:
  • Must have experience in a Management/Leadership Development Training role within a commercial environment
  • Must hold either a L&D, OD or CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of influencing at senior levels on introducing and driving new development initiatives across the organisation.
  • Ability to gain credibility amongst Executive and Senior Managers.
  • Excellent delivery and presentation skills required, with the confidence to deliver to Senior Managers.
  • Experience of dealing with resistance to change by gaining buy-in, motivating and engaging those involved.
  • Key planning, project management, problem solving and analytical skills.
