Job summary

Newcastle United Women Academy seeks an Academy Physical Performance Lead to shape evidence-informed athletic development for young players. You will lead S&C programmes, monitor progress, and support rehab in collaboration with coaches, medical staff and the multidisciplinary team.

The role focuses on long-term athlete development, injury prevention and high-performance culture within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and review S&C programmes aligned to NUW Performance Plan.
• Conduct physical testing and monitor player progression for development plans.
• Support rehabilitation and injury prevention with MDT.
• Provide physical performance support during training and matchdays.
• Maintain player records and databases to professional standards.
• Educate coaches to integrate physical development into technical plans.
• Deliver education on nutrition, recovery and healthy lifestyles.
• Maintain and develop performance monitoring systems.
• Support management of equipment and facilities.
• Contribute to projects, meetings and continuous improvement.
