We have an exciting opportunity for a lead web designer to join the Online Grocery team! As the lead web designer you will be part of the fastest growing business within Asda and one of the industry leaders in online grocery.

Reporting into the Digital Campaigns Manager, this role primarily focus is on artworking creative and implementing on-brand promotional graphics for the Grocery website across all relevant devices. You’ll also be responsible for day-to-day management of junior designers within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Create optimised promotional web graphics for the Grocery website across the responsive site (desktop, mobile & tablet) & Apps in accordance with best practice guidelines
  • Use coding knowledge to publish a high volume of accurate graphics to the site in line with supplier funding plan
  • Quality checking & proof reading as required
  • Work with junior web designer to challenge briefs where required, drive innovation through testing & analyse creative performance
  • Work with junior web designer to manage priorities and tasks
  • Proactively lead a problem solving approach
  • Work collaboratively with wider team to ensure Implementation of at least 99% for supplier funded media

"Lets find out about you"

  • A design related qualification post GCSE level
  • Evidence of producing web graphics across devices
  • Proven ability to use Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Proven ability to hand code HTML
  • Some knowledge of CSS and designing fully responsive pages
  • Evidence of using a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of designing for web standards & browsers
  • Some UX knowledge
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to produce a high volume of banners
